I believe this is the most talkabout Expert Advisor for automatic trading in december 2007, A real expert advisor from a real trader with mathematical edge !
I really couldn't bear my anthusiasm when knowing this EA is going to release for public. Because as far as i know, this EA used to manage private fund from a capital management company named switch-funds. Although i'm far more optimistic about this EA, i'll try to give in-depth review as independent as i can.

A Brief Summary of PointBreak EA
Characteristic:
- Long Term EA, 24x5 Automatic Trading (use VPS or dedicated server)
- "Capitilized the market" concept - made this system Impossible to trade by hand !
- Not recommeded to use this EA with other E.
- EURUSD - M30 Only (in december 2007)
- Suggested Minimum Capital $1000 for mini account, $5000 for standard account
Prelude
It was back in late April 2007, when i met Mr. Lin for the first time. Before i joined his seminar i was already did many code in mt4 for a year and half. I've been code for free for some seasoned trader. But none of their strategy gave good result when it turned into automatic system (so called ex4 / Expert Advisor).. i was too tired to code more EA since many of them work improperly. Then came a newspaper that have an Ad said "The Automatic Trading Mastery 2007".. hmm interesting ! Although Mr. Lin presented a different EA at that time, i think it has the foundation of PointBreak EA... because i remember the visual display look the same as PointBreak EA.

Ok, to make the long story short... let's meet PointBreak EA !
The Fundamental of PointBreak EA concept : Trade like BIG Boys!
i remember once Mr.Lin told me that many people failed in forex trading, because they keep to trade with the trend.. they try to tweak the parameter of indicators which commonly lagging, no wonder 95% of trader are left behind, because as the soon they have signal.. market already prepary the next move.
So one of the key of trading success according mr.Lin is don't trade to follow the trend but instead Trade like Big Boys (Commercial Bank, Big Company, etc) ! How to trade like Big Boys... the answer should be you have to Capitilized the market !
Another key to have a successful portfolio is having a strong and solid Trade Management, so eventhough we're facing a very choppy market.. in the long term the EA must survive to close all trade in profit.
Well, this is my own opinion, the capitilized concept would draw you away from 'naughty' broker.. Although this is 'always' become a myth that broker sometimes do what we call 'stop hunting' this EA would create you a good position because... It would try to make a profitable trade.. NO MATTER the direction of the market !
Point Break EA Closing Techniques : How can a broker hunt for stops if the EA Capitilized the Market like this ?
Forward Result Analyst
I forward test PointBreak EA from early december also my trader fellow from singapore, Chee Kong Ow Yong (a.k.a CK), did a forward test also. In general, Different start time and point, different broker would give different result. Also, this EA is very sensitive to client-side reboot (or disconnect). So i suggest : if you want to use this EA, make sure your internet connection is reliable. If you run this EA by occasionally, the system would not work as expected or it is possible to give you more drawdown.
i use default parameter, here is what i found: it use hedging, grid pyramiding, grid averaging... you could see that on a good trend, it would open a position on every 3 pips.
The EA concept is 'always close in profit' (not using SL or Target.. AHA ! it is good to avoid "stop hunters" also) .. more alike Pipforia EA, Freedom of Rocks, ForexSmarties. i think some of the code is EquityTarget=OrderProfit()+OrderSwap(); (but this is just my intrepetation).
The biggest problem with this kind of method is slippage, especially when the EA try to close all of position in very choppy market. You could ended with loss.
Also the EA is not quick rich scheme, i rise about 2% using the default setting (very concervative). just remember, this EA is not depent on high profitable signal, but instead a mathematical edge algorithm inside the EA to capitilized the market. but on Very Aggresive setting the EA could give you more than 50% net profit !!
My Conclusion
Purchasing a commercial expert advisor is an art. But however, i highly recommended to try this EA to find out yourself if this EA could match your trading style. But more important, you should know "the man behind the gun", right ?
These are reasons why i put this EA as highly recommended EA :
- I already met the PointBreak EA creator, in person ! and yes.. he is a real trader ! he knows the system , he knows what he is doing !
- PointBreak EA offer a free demo for limited time !
- He explained the logic of the EA ! (not all EA seller do that !)
- The seller even 'dare' to provide a LIVE statement, not a forward demo result (again not find EA seller do this )
- Direct Support from the creator
- Point Break EA don't overtrade for conservative setting
- Point Break EA could able to follow the directon of the price
- You don't have to glue to your monitor, a great system for non active trader !
These are some reasons why i'm not suggest to use the EA in following situation :
- If you don't have enough margin buffer (need at least $1000 in mini account that support mini microlot trading)
- If you can't stand again large floating loss position (this is a long term EA, a large floating loss position could happen, but it is unrealized loss, the EA will close with profit in the end... the bottom line question is ..when ? well, no one knows)
- If you plan to use it with other system (other EA or descretionary trading)
- If you can't provide a reliable connection 24/5 for fully automatic trading
So if you looking for consistency, ease of mind, and high probabilityresult, definitely you'll love pointbreak.. it comes from real trader and it support REAL community.
